Welcome to my website. As an oboist who also plays other woodwinds I am involved in a variety of things as a professional musician here in the Los Angeles area. Yes, I am principal oboe in a number of groups like the Long Beach Opera and Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay, associate principal oboe in the Desert Symphony, and am a long time member of the Long Beach Symphony. I played the English horn solos on major motion pictures like “Up” and “Star Trek” but I also played saxes, clarinet and flutes in those and other movies. I play for local Broadway show productions, jingles, video games and even played recorder recently with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. As Professor of Oboe I teach at CSU Long Beach and teach clarinet, sax and oboe at Whittier College.
Sweetening synth scores is one of my specialties. Playing all the parts in a woodwind section, except bassoon, is something you will hear me doing in my audio examples. Adding few live instruments can make all the difference to really help bring the score alive.
